AEGON is one of the world’s largest providers of life insurance, pensions and long-term savings and investment products. Joining in the development strategy for the Central and Eastern Europe, AEGON group has its first contact with Romania in 2007, the year in which the company set up the private pension company, a joint-venture between AEGON and Banca Transilvania. In 2009, AEGON purchased the participation of 50% BT held in the company and became exclusive shareholder, named AEGON S.A.F.P.A.P S.A. (Societate de Administrare a unui Fond de Pensii Administrat Privat).
